Vlog: Dumpster Upcycling

April 1, 2011

Dumpster diving, usually an term considered taboo and all-around yucky.

However, about two years ago a graduate of Goldsmiths University began to shape a whole new look on the alley dwellings, converting them into swimming pools, gardens, living rooms and even a skate ramp.

(In the vlog I mentioned it’s a whole community, nix that)

Skip Conversions, the urban project that has since ended, shows just how far you can take the idea of upcycling.

What a creative idea! I love all the different things that people have done with old dumpsters, I have never heard of this!

Diana I Love your video!! I think it’s great and very funny that you left in the first few takes.

I would have never thought all of this awesome stuff could be created from old dumpsters. Dumpster Diving is a neat technique! Thanks for sharing another great idea! 🙂

Thanks Lauren! I figured it would add a little something 😉
So many things around us can be made into something new, this idea with dumpsters just reminded me that there really is a kid in everyone. They let their imaginations run wild!

That’s an awesome idea and it definitely shows that there is a little kid in everyone. I never even heard of upcycling before but some really cool stuff can come out of it. Plus I like how you left you first couple of takes in the video gave the blog some humor.
